Due to the unprecedented amount f flak I’ve taken about last week’s ersonal article, I’ve just going to stick o the news this to the news this week just joking guys -- I did it and I will do it again!).

I have come to a rather difficult decision in my life, I have decided to attend another university and leave UPEI. Why, you ask, should you care? Well my dear Soc/Anth pals, if you plan to go on to graduate school, an honours degree is highly recommended. There is no Soc/Anth honours program at UPEI. As you may remember, there was a petition a while back supporting the inception of an honours program in Soc/Anth. So, I encourage you, if you signed that petition or are just plain concerned, to join me in writing letters to the Dean of Arts, the Assistant Dean and the chair of the Soc/Anth depart- ment expressing your support of such a program. Let is make UPEI a little better for our younger brothers and sisters, shall we?

On a more fun-and-games note, please bring in your Texas Mickey Ticket money at your earliest conven- ience, but keep on seeling. The pro- ceeds go toward your society, so get out there and sell.

The society also plans to have a tobogganing party in Brookvale on Tuesday, February 6. We’ll meet in the lounge around 6:00 pm. Dress warm. Coffee and hot chocolate afterward!

Society t-shirts are soon to be a reality. The sign up sheet is in the lounge so sign up and choose your graphic! Also, on a final note, please keep in mind that Wednesday, February 7 is the National Day of Action. You are welcome to join a march from the Barn to Province House, which has been organized to protest further cuts to our educational system. The march starts at 11:30 from the Barn.

At the Panther Lounge

At the Barn this week we will be hosting a variety of bands. The show is called No Cases, and will be at the Barn February 6, 7, and 8. Tickets are available at the Student Union office.

On Tuesdays we will be hosting the Sony Play Station tournament. Be sure to come down to the lounge and try out this new system. The feature game for this week will be Twisted

’ Metal.

Movie Pubs are held every Friday at 2:00 pm, the movie for this week will be a Simpsons marathon, which is a six hour tape of nonstop Simpsons. The last marathon was a hit, so be sure not to miss this one. Following the movie pub, the weekly Labbatt’s pool tournament will be held. Stick around and win some great prizes. Don’t forget trivia with Jen is held on Wedenesday nights.

Look for Moosehead’s new promotion at the Barn, which gives you a chance to win a trip to Toronto to see the concert of your choice.
