“i a Here we are again!

Well over half the year is now behind us and we have ‘only seven papers left to go. Over the past semester we have heard many comments about the papers we were putting out. That was good. Unfortunately, most of the comments were complaints about the paper. That was also good. All in all, any comment is a good comment. It is the only way we will ever know what the students think of the paper. Is the paper too empty?, is it too short?, too long?, or just too bor- ing?. Every student on this campus pays for this paper. In fact, it cost over $30,000 per year to keep the paper going. This isa large sum of money, and you should have a say as to how it is used.

Now I am not saying that if you dislike the paper you should try to stop it from printing, but rather you should try to improve it. That is where youcome in. We havea large number of areas where you can help out. First and foremost is submitting to the X-Press. This is easy to do and can be in many areas. We try fo cover everything from sports to campus features to articles from around the world.

We also have anumber of special areas where anyone

ean contribute. If you have an original comment to nake about some idea that has not already been dis-

bussed in the paper, write acommentary. This is

where you can get your two cents worth in abouta ‘urrent affair. In addition to the commentary section, he letters to the editor section also provides an area or public form. Ifyou really like something or

ptally despise it, write in and tell your fellow stu-

ents aboutit.

We also have other areas in the paper for you to use. you are feeling ill, write to ‘‘The Doctor’’ and let im tell you whatails you, He'll give you a pound of

ire plus a free ounce of laughter.

you want to send a note to that special person or ell that great joke you heard the other night, use the ¢c forall section, it’s free!!

‘*A kinder-gentler’’

If you wanna make people laugh and you have any drawing ability, draw up some cartoons for the paper. If you are really keen, and don’t want to be mean, yet still want to be seen, write some poetry for the imagi- nations page.

Whatever your interest, we have room for you. We have tried to make the paper as open to the public as possible, its up to you to use it.
