At Darlington, Feb. 10th, Ann McLean, relict of the late Norman Campbell, Exq., in the 6lst year of her age. For several years she had been in delicate health, but was ever patient and cheerful. She was remarkable for the aimiability of her dis- a and character, Those whom she eft behind her to moura their loss—her children and her many friends—all speak of her kindness and tenderness of heart. Her hasbard died about a year ago. They spent the long period of over sixty years together as husband and wife, and are now united in the better land, where there is no — nor sickness nor pain. Both members of the Presbyterian Church of Strathalbyn, in their lives they made their standard the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jerrersox, Ohio, Feb. 21.—Orname Ellis has won a verdict for $10,500 against the New York and Chicago and St. Lonis

railroad. Ellis was an engineer on the road, and in May, 1890, his engine and

twenty-nine freight cars plunged through a high trestle over Con Creek, in’ wesiern Pennsylvania. Ellis received injuries to his system which made him a cripple for life. He sued for $60,000.

Paris, Feb. 21.—Pive Anarchists were arrested today on suspicion of having caused the explosion in the avenue Saint Ouen. The explosion was attributed to the discharge of a bomb, but it was snb- sequently learned it was caused by the ignition of gas, The police found 11 sham bombs on the premises’ Those were taken to headquarters for examination.
