Sir, —I noticed in the Damry Examiner of the 12th inst., a communication,over the signature of ‘‘Onlooker.” By appearance, ‘**Onlooker ” is one of those onlookers who, when he does look, sees only one side of a case, and that generally the wrong side.

This witness, at least, notwithstanding the contention of ‘‘ Onlooker,” does not know when he is intoxicated, So much for the respectable (?) witnesses.

One other assertion of **Onlooker” de- mands a passing notico. He says that Weatherbie called no witness inthe Magis- trate’s Court to defend him. They took care not to give him time for this; for they would hardly give him time to eat his breakfast before going to court. Some of the subpcenas which were taken out by the Prosecutor were not served on the parties, ree he ae the —— had suspicion that the evidence of t aoe if given,

sounding them on the matter, they t0o the other two as sufficient to carry out their dastardly designs, and do their dirty work.

‘*Onlooker,” in his remarks on the judge’s decision, shows both ignorance and impudence. But ‘* Where ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise,” and this is notably so in the case of ** Onlooker.” Here, then, is a summary of the csse. They condemned Weatherbie in a court of injustice, and by refusing reasonable secur- ity which he tendered, they sought to de- fraud him out of an appeal to a court of justice, where a sworn Judge on the bench, after hearing the evidence on both sides, has decided in his favor. The fact that one of the Prosecutor’s own witnesses swore that he drank a gallon and a half or two gallons of the beer before he became in- toxcated speaks volumes, while another be- came intoxicated to a brutal degree by three glasses of it, and still another made ter- ribly incapable by two drinks. To use the words of ‘‘Onlooker,” they ‘‘ will find some difficulty in getting any sensible per- son to believe it.”

I, therefore, think it is quite unnecessary for ‘‘ Onlooker”” to use so much verbiage concerning his bad case, when he evidently wishes to tell so little of the truth.

A Farmer's Views.

Sm,—As a subscriber to your journal, allow me to notice the cbmmunications of ‘** Pro Bono Publico” and ** One of the De- ceived,” each of which deals with matters medical. With each I am in entire accord and fullest sympathy. The subject is an important one and requires the fullest dis- cussion possible. ‘* One of the Deceived ” says: ‘* When we see the men, principally in the country, who assume that time- honored title ‘* Doctor” and attach M. D. to their signatures, and examine their education and qualifications, we are sur- prised at the quality and material of which ‘Doctors are made.” The above must re- fer to those who have graduated at institu- tions, whose course of study and examina- tions are below par. There are, no doubt, many such in the country.. Until the pub- lic learn to discrimmate between thorough- ly educated practitioners and those of the class described, the evil will continue until remedied by an act of Parliament.

Those men degrade and belittle a noble and alearned profession. But what are the public to think of those who have failed to satisfy the slender requirements of col- Jeges which have licensed the class which your correspondent so justly decries. Cer- tainly that they must be the veriest block- heads in existence, or that they have spent their time in a manner Jmost questionable.

On Thursday, 19th inst., Cardigan coer School was examined by Chief Superintend-_ ent D. Montgomery, Esq., and Mr. W. Cain, Inspector of Schools.
