Mr. West had been uewell for several years, the cause being catarrh of the etomach. Recently hie health seemed to be somewhat improved. Bat on the al- vice of his physician went to seek a more congenial climate, On Friday night, waile a guest at the house of the Rev. Ed* ward Osborne, ie Boston, he, became eud- devly and acutely ill of peritenitas. It was deemed necessary to remove him to the boepital where he died at about four o'clock on Saturday.
