Sad news again is whisperod round, Which we are shocked to hear,

The messenger of death has come, To him we held most dear.

Now tears are falling thick and fast, That cannot cease to fall,

As those with whom he used to dwell, Can never him recall.

When gazing on his form of death, How natural did it seem,

A smile was impressed on the face, As of a pleasant dream

His yeuthful days are at an end, His morning life is run,

In sorrow we shall mourn for thee, **Oh, God, Thy will be done,

Death's dark valley he has crossed, With brave and fearless tread,

And never to his friends did say, **T wish that I were dead.”

The face lit up with hope of youth, ‘Lhe eye with joy so bright,
