DEBATE ON THE SALARIES BILL Hon. Mr. Loan. I am, I must confess, not only at a loss to lrnow by what role we are to proceed for the establishing of fixed salaries for the Attorney General and the Queen's Printer, but I am also at a loss to know how.it can be made to appear that our doing so will be no- tive of any good to the country. if we fix the salaries at the amount of fees and charges claimed by those oflcers, and actually paid to them, in what way, I should like to know, will the change serve the country! 1‘ e same amounts will con- tinue to be paid to them as before; and they will still be paid to them out ofthe peo mes .
