Sir,—In your issue of the 21st inst. there appeared a peculiar specimen of jingdism entitled “A Correction,” and purporting to be signed by one of the Charlottetown Baseball Team in which “Scribo’s” notes of the 17th inst. anent baseball are said to have been false.

Your city correspondent admits they were challenged, but says that, instead of declining to accept, as stated, they did accept the challenge, that they claimed theright to name the ground; that Char- lottetown as the place of meeting; and fin- ally that we backed out of the contest.
