Burtpine 1s Montreat.—The report of the Montreal building inspector shows that during last year, 1,052 buildings were
cted in that city, the total value of which is estimated to be $3,608,000, as compared with 933 buildings erected in 1888, valued at $3,447,594. The last year’s buildings comprised 1,756 tenements and other dwellings, 95 stores, 15 manufactor- ies, 2 warehouses, 1 bank, 5 churches, 5 schools, 7 oftices and 1 skating rink. The total number of buildings erected during the last decade was 5,431.
