He thanked Charlottetown Council for their wonderful co-operstlon and said it was one of the finest public banquets ever held in the city. Mr. R. E. Bradley also spoke words of praise and thankato the Council.

Mr. Thomas MacAdam, chairman of bowling, told the meeting that the bowling finished last Monday evening and that the annual bow- lers banquet would be held at s very early date. The Lecturer, on behalf of the Council, thanked (the chairman and his committee for their wonderful accomplishments.

Mr. R. E. Bradley, the Lecturer. told the meeting that s play "An Irish Stew" under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus would be held in the Holy Name Hail May 19th. This play is open to the pub- lib and he asked all that. could possibly attend to do so.

The annual Knights of Colum- bus carnival will be held this year as usual at Victoria Park. The date is Juno 30th.

The Sick Committee report was given which showed some of the members still confined in their homes.

The Grand Knight brought a question before the meeting con- cerning equipment for the play- ground at. St. Vincent's Orphanage. The Bunch System

1n the "bunch" system. 15 traps are used. They are placed on the guriwales of the boat, eight on one side slnd seven on the other. One line connects the lb traps with a bouy and anchor attached to each end of the lure. As those traps are spaced no further apart than they wereon thelinesrununderthe old system-n. the line connecting the “bunch? Lo no more than one- seventh as long as the one used 30 years ago. Ii. therefore, is particul- arly effective when the fisherman wishes to "fish" those smell and scattered areas where he knows from previous experience that the big lobsters abound. All he has to do is to "drug-chug" along in his motor boat until he arrives over the “bottom" where he knows the big lobsters are. ‘lihm ihe slows dovm his motor. drops the first anchor and. a little later. his first buoy; Then. one by one so the gentle speed of the boat carries the line over gthe stern. the traps. weighted with ballast and baited. slide off the gunwale into the sea.

N.. also of other workers who have done so much in carrying on Dispensary activities. He thanked the City Council for their generous grant and the help given by them in many other ways, also the public for their contributions and sup- port.

There is hardly need to mention that we have all passed through a very severe and difficult winter. My memory does not recall tile cost of living ever having been higher.

Since last fall new, people have been steadily cam-in; to the "Fae Dispensary" for help, Others have returned who haven't rmde a show- ing for years. Last year at this time there were fifty index cards. This year there are one minds-ed. lust double the number. Some of these are elderly people living alone having old Isa Pensions or nomlrlg except what they them- selves can earn; some widows with- ohlldren to support; other: whole families, the father very often being in poor health. The sick, old and helpless are visiting fairly regularly. others mbso frequently.

The winter before last times seemed to be hard. 1n March 1946. we bed a balance in the current funds of almost one thousand
