The executive of the Dominion Rifle Association hax added a new match, the Gillespie Challenge Cup,to its compet tions, | This cup is presented by the late T. x. Gillespie, Secretary of the Canada Club, London, together with a medal for the highest aggregate in the match. The cup will be competed for by teams of six and will go tothe team makiog the highest aggregate at 500 and 600 yards in most competitions including the grand aggre- gate.

Orrawa, July 21.—€. H. Wilkinson, on behalf of the British Yukon con.pany. made an offer to the minister of the interior to build a waggon road throngh the White Paas for $2,000 per mile. The distance is about 50 miles, Abont eight milea of the road would be very difficult to bui'd. It would take about $7,000 per mile, being all rock excavation, in the opinion of Mr. Wilkisonn, to construct this eight miles. At the rate the people are flocking into this new region .omething will bave to be done soon to provide away for getting provisions into the mining district. If this road was bnilt Victoria could be reacled from the Yukon in about fourteen days, he says.
