Anti-Tuberculosis Project For
I Suminerside
As recently announced in these columns by the Director of Tuber- culoais Control. an x-ray and vac- cination project would shortly be undertaken for the people of sum- merside. It is now announced that this programme will start on the 16:'n of March.
It is planned to first cover the Summerside High School begin- ning mi that date. at the school, and then the convent, starting the following Monday. at the new Health Centre.
The first essential phase is a chest x-ray of all people. This will be followed by it tuberculin test, which in the case of the school children is subject to parents con- sent. The school children will therefore be taking home. next week, consent slips which will re- quire the signature of parent or guardian permitting the tuberculin
of this week, but beginning March 9th for a couple of weeks will be closed.

From the Nth of March to about mid-Aipril the clinic will be open at the Health Centre at convenient hours, to be published. for the adult population. Tuberculosis is not restricted to any age group and is indeed very prevalent in the middle use bracket. BOG vaccina- tion providea a considerable de- gree of immunity to 113. Therefore all the adult citlz of summer side are exhorted to take advantage of this precautionlly measure and attend the clinic. It is but a mat- ter of few minutes for each visit. Whether or not a BOG vaccina- tion is found desirable, a chest x- ray should be considered a must for everyone.
