Mr. Peter Brodie, York, in a brief talk told of the formation of the Farmers’ Institutes and went on to refer to the seed fairs. which went hand in hand with them. He felt that they had been a valuable aid to furthering the development oi agriculture in this province. The date oi the provincial exhibition ls tco early as it is now, he thought, to show to best advantage agricult- ure products oi the province.

Mr. J. A. Dewar, New Perth, said he felt there was much in the ed- ucational system here that might, with advantage, be changed. Not enough strers is laid on agricultural education, he claimed, in a prov- ince where the vast majority of the people are farmers.

Mr. J. 'W. MBCLCMI, High Bank, said he did not know whether the education system at Prince of Wdes College should be changed but he‘ advocated teaching Hafi- cultural subjects in the rural schools to a greater extent than at present. To attempt extensive co- operation without educatlon is put- ting the cart before the horse. he thought.

Mr. R. A. Profltt, Freetown. claimed that in his opinion tho educational system here had not been ‘planned, for rural needs. Because the liquor traffic has to do with human beings, and al- though temperaments and cus- toms differ over a wide area, there is no serious difference in rem- peraments I-Ild customs between the peoples of the Northern States and Canada, With this in mind, we ought t0 be willing, yea, anxious to benefit by their experience relative to the liquor problem. We benefit by example in the lesser issues of life.
