WOMEN'S INTRAMURALS VETS BOW DOWN TO ROOKIES

A star - studded rookie line—up from Bernardine Hall recently defeated the Bernardine Vets in a game played last week in the women's intramural softball league. The game was originally scheduled to be played between Bernardine 13 and Bernardine 24 but 13 could not field a team. Team Captain Jackie Doran of the Vets’stated that in her opinion "Vince favored the Rookies." This corner has a tendancy to believe Jackie - based on previous experiences with the "Big M."

Highlights of the Rookie - Vet gameq included a triple by Lynn Schneider of the Vets and the long ball hitting of Rookie Karen Rose. The Vets say they will not let this loss go by lightly, and have issued a challenge to the Rookies for a rematch.; Should the Rookies decide to accept the challenge (which they probably won't), the game will be held in a couple of weeks time.

_ In the other game played in women's softball, Blanchard Hall and the Day StUdents Were defeated by Hurricane Frederic. The taileendaof~Freddy7forced the suspension of the game in the third inning with the score tied 2«2; Blanchard Hall, led by Captain Carol Ann Bernard, were seen on their hands and knees just prior to the start of the third inning, looking for a miracle to stop the game — just as the Day Students Were sending up the big bats of Brigid Connolly, Marcia Smallman, and Wendy Birch. Because of the interference of Hurricane Freddy - thanks to Blanchard Hall - this game will be replayed.

Entries are still being accepted for the lst Annual Nomads Flag Football. Rumors have it the Rookies; the Field Hockey team; Blanchard Hall; and the-Bernardine Hall pk '"Roughriders" may be entering teams. I would have to say on the basis of these rumors the Field Hockey team would have the upper
