commodation for Visitors.

The Lodging Bureau in connection with the Provincial Exhibition is now open and for the present will be located at Room 13, Roy Building, 75 Barringtoa St. It is under direction of Alderman Butler, who will have associated with him an effi cient staff eech of which will have personal knowledge of the aecommodation oftered by those wLo intend to keep ludgers or boarders during exhitition week, The reports from advertising agents and others go to. show that tne number of visitors this year will exceed 1897 by fully 40 percent. It i# therefore higbly de- sirable that intending visitors should place tbhemeelves in commanication with the bureau at once and on arrival in the city go to the office, and be located in the place assigned them, which, of course they are not bound to take if found une suitable,

A New Contrivance.

Beruix, August 27.—The water tan~ dem ig the lateat application of the bicycle here. The eyclists are seated on a middle platform, which is supported by a couple of cigar-shaped boate. The con- trivance holds six persons, including the two wheelmen. It goes either backward or forward, and the steering is perfect.
