While mass waz being celebrated ina toman Catholic church at the village of Rogezno, near Sambor, in Galicia, a light- ed taper was accidentaliy upset, and a panic ensued. The church was densely crowded at the time. Three persons were killed, and several others were seriously injured.

Loxvon, Oct. 4——The Standard to-day prints a despatch from Shanghai stating that Li Hung Chang has gone to Pekin at the request of the Dowager Empress, with whom he has always had the most cordial relations. Together they have prepared a grand scheme of administrative re- organization, including the removal of the capital from Pekin to a more secure place in Centrel China.
