A letter was read from ex-Councillor lauton complaining that the telephone pole nuisance in tront of bis premises hud not been abated, and that the resolution of Council bearing upon the matter had not been carried out. The matter was refer- red (o the Mayor for action.

In reply to Councillor Crabbe, Mayor Warburton said be had no information te- garding the coming to Charlottetown of the Governor-General excepting what he had seen in ibe papers. He had spoken to the

he was also in the dark as to the reported Visit.

Councillor Crabbe intimated that 8 condensed milk factory was about to be started bere, and the promoters were ,look- ing about for a site. They thought the city lot at Spring Park a good one, and might purcbase it if they could come to terme. He suggested the appointment ofa committee to confer with the promoters of the enterprise.

The sale of the lot in question was favor~ ed by Councillors Horne and Lyons and

d by Councillors Nicholson, Hooper aod Taylor. The matter was allowed to drop.

Councillor Taylor’s by-law amending the curfew law was given the six months hoist, after it bad reached the committee stage. Councillor Hooper was in the chair. Councillors Tavlor, Crabbe and Horne

favored the passage of the by-law as sub- }

Councillors Nicholson, Lyons and

McCarron opposing it. The chairman

gave bie casting vote against ,the by-law. A mo‘1ou introduced by Councillor

Crabbe that $250 be voted towards the
