that such warrant of attorney shall be directed to the Attorney General and Solicitor General only; also, to issue execution on the same, to take all necessary steps to perfect execution, and to acknow- ledge satisfaction nnder any such circumstances as aforesaid when payment has been recovered or received.

XXVIII. All warrants of attorney which have heretofore been taken by Collectors of Impost and Excise, in addition to the recognizance by law di- rected to be taken as security tor payment of duties of impost and excise, shall, notwithstanding that the same shall not in all cases be found to have been strictly taken in accordance with the directions con- tained in the statutes in force respecting the same, or the taking or form of such warrants of attorney, beheld and deemed to be good and valid, and to be sufficient to enable and authorize judgment to be entered up thereon in Her Majesty’s Supreme Court of Judicature as of the term of the said Su- preme Court in Queen’s County next preceding the date of entering up judgment or otherwise, as the case may be, and execution to be issued thereon for the recovery of the amount purporting to be secured thereby, and by the recognizance taken at the same time therewith.

XXIX. The tenth, twenty-fourth, forty-fourth, fifty-third, fifty-fourth, sixty-first, sixty-second, sixty-seventh, sixty-eighth, seventy-fifth and eighty- first sections ofthe said hereinbefore recited Act of the nineteenth Victoria, chapter one, shall be and the same are hereby repealed.

XXX. Any Collector of Impost and Excise who shall neglect or omit to administereny ofthe oaths prescribed in and by the twenty-fifth, thirty-seventh, forty-ninth, seventieth and seventy-second sections ofthe l'iereinbefore recited Act of the nineteenth Victoria, chapter one,and in and by any ofthe sec- tions of this Act, shall, for each and every such neglect or omission, forfeit and pay into the Trea- sury ofthis Island the sum of fifty pounds for the use of Her Majesty’s Govermnent; to be recovered in the Supreme Court ofJudicature, in Her Majes- ty’s name, in an action of debt, on the oath of a credible witness.

XXXI. All Collectors of Impost, now, or here- after to be appointed, shall, on rendering a just and true account of, and paying into the Treasury of this Island all moneys received by them, under and by virtue ofthe provisions ofthis Act, and on their accounts being certified as correct by the Auditors

’of public accounts, he paid by \Varrant drawn by

the Lieutenant Governor in Council on the 'J‘rea~ sury ofthis Island, an amount equal to five pounds per centum on all moneys reteived and paid over by such Collectors of lmpost under" this Act, ex- cept the Collectors of lmpost for Charlottetown, Georgetown, and Bedequc, who are already pro- vided for by Salary.

XXX”. All Goods, \Vares and Merchandize, imported into this Islam], in Steam Vessels, may he lauded by the masters or oflicers thereof, with-1 out previous entry of such Steam Vessels, or the Goods, “’ares and Merchandize so imported in them, at the Impost Office, or Permit to land the same being had; provided all such Goods, \Vares and Merchandize be, on landing, placed by such master or other otlicer in the custody of a Proven- tive or other Revvnue otlicer; and all such otlicers receiving Goods, \Vares or M erchandize, so landed from any Steamer, without previous entry, shall re- tain possession thereof, on behalf of the Collector of lmpost for the port in which the same shall he landed, until the Duties due in respect thereofshall have been paid or secured, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

XXXIII. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to import into this Island any indecent or obscene paintings, books, cards, lithographic or other engravings, or any other indecent or obscene

' articles; and if imported, the same shall be seized

and destroyed by any Collector ofImpost and Ex- cise, or preventive officer.

XXXlV. All fines, penalties and forfeitures im- posed under or by virtue of any of the provisions contained in the hereinbefore recited Act of the nineteenth Victoria. chapter one, or of this Act, may be prosecuted and sued for by information of Her Majesty’s Attorney or Solicitor General, filed in the Supreme Court ofthis Island.

XXXV. This Act shall go into operation and be in force immediately on the passing thereof, and from thence shall continue and be in torce until the first day of May, in the year of our Lord one thous~ and eight hundred and sixty-six.

XXXVI. So soon as this Act shall go into oper~ ation, the Act ofthe twenty—seventh Victoria, chap- ter one, intituled “ An Act for raising :1 Revenue,” shall be and the same is hereby repealed.
