It is good ne indeed that a New Brunswick shipbuilding firm, Bathurst Mar e. Limited. is to locate its facilities at Georgetown, and that work on the construction of I plant \VllIL'll will employ upw rds of 200 people within I relatively short time, is already getting lin- der way. Tlle company will be build- Irll.r ships for the Atlantic shipping fleet. and also for Gulf Garden Foods Limited. the big new process- Ing plant to be erected there next spring.

The Provincial Government is to be warmly commended on bringing these important industries in Georgetown. They will complement each other in their activities, and in both cases we note the full cooper- ation which the Town of George- town has given in pmriding suimble land areas.

The Government. for its part, Is underwriting the initial costs and will also begin a vocational training and apprenticeship program to assist Island people to become qualiﬁed workers in shipbuilding trades. This is an evpenditure that can hardly fail to return substantial dividends.
