Tae Last Rires.—The funeral of the late Dr. Leeming took place this after~ noon, aniwas under Masonic auspices The brethern turned out well, and there wasslso a large attendance of citizens generally. The services at the church and at the grave were taken by Rev J T Bryan, rector of St Paul’s. The body was interred in the People’s Cemetery. The honorary pall-bearers were Charles Palmer, H J Cundal!, W H Aitken, J D Seaman, Adam Murray and Benj Rogers. The active pal! bearers were chosen from the brethern of St. John’s Lodge, of which the deceased bad been chaplain for many yeare.

Price or Peratrors. — Potatoes are worth from 45c to 55c. Farmers in Nova Scotia are now receiving atleast 45c per bushel for them in their ‘cellars, and deal~ ers in Halifax are asking $175 per3. bushel bag for Nova Scotia, and $1 50 for the same quantity of P Elsland. These prices are about the same as the prevailing figure last year—Halifax Herald.
Apmirat Dewey’s Oprnion.--Mr Hams ilton Brown, editor of the British Realm, London, Eng, received a letter from Rear Admirs! Dewey, dated Manila, Dec. 18, in response to a request for an expre-sion of opinion on Great Britain’s Imperial policy. The Admiral says: “After many years wandering,I have come to the con~ clusion thatthe mightiest factor in the civilization of the world is the Imperial policy of England. ”
A Natrona, Repvration.—George H. Broadburst’s farce, “ What Happened to Jones,” which was played in Charlotte- town last summer by the Harkins Com- pany, seems to have a world-wide reputa- tion. Broadhurst Bros. have conc'uded arrangements with Dr. Hirich, the govern~ ment collector of royalties in Vienna, for placing the piece in Germany, Austro- Hungary, Russia, and, in fact, all German speaking countries.
Diep Aproap.—A telegram received by Hon. Angus McMillan last evening con- veyed the sad intelligence of the death at Marlin, Texas, onthe 3lst January, of his son, Mr. Archibald McMillan. The telegram did not givethe canse of death but ina late letter to his sister, Miss Isabel McMillan, her brother said that he was just convalecing from ao attack of malarial fever, and it is thought that death is due to the effects of that disease. The deceased was avery clever young man, and a great favorite with all who knew him. He gratusted from the Law Schc»! of Harvard University, and practiced Lis profession in Denver until his heelth fail-~ ed when he returned to bis home in Sum- merside. Last September he went to Marlin, where he remained until the end came. His father and sister have the sympathy of allin their great bereave- ment. The body will be embalmed and bronght home for burial. The funeral will be under the auspices ofthe Odd- fellows,
