Pilercet chairman of the light Commilttee begged leave to advise the Council that he had re- cciveti-u nutmber of complaints with regard to the lighting of the city tin general during the past few days. “i mus-t suy,” he de- viilriiii. "that. it is time we were awake to the fact that the Light and Power Company are not giv- lug the citizens proper slarvice. As you are aware, for the lust three weeks, we have been gettilng an extremely bad lighting service and as chairman of the Light Commit- tee I feel it my duty to bring this

Coun. Pierce said he had heard complaints about the scr- vice and suggested that a commit- tee of three be appointed to in- vestigate the plant and find out if possilbie whether the fault lay with the management or with the ma- ciiinery.
