Findings of the enquiry body will be studied carefully by the Minister. Decision will follow on the date of the publication of the report by the Government.

For some months, the Commis- lion under the Ohllrmlfilhfp of Dr. Arthur Surveyor, Montreal, has been investigating the advisability of the proposal. Action in appoint- ing the Commission followed the lnu uetlo of a ‘ution in Par- liament by R. K. Smith (Con. Cumbe‘ land).

Ten thousand more were injured and property damage of $20,000,000 was caused as the French munitions vessel Montblanc blew up 1n the harbor narrows after colliding with the Belgian relief ship Imo.

The force of the explosion was felt for miles. The city's north end bore its brunt, however, hundreds died in the streets and beneath the wreckage of toppling structures. Halifax was a city of death for day:
