Baltic School Annual Picnic

-The closing exercises of Bal- tic School took place in the form of a picnic at Adam's shore, Dam-i lay, on Saturday afternoon, June 20th, with a large number of chil- dren and parents present. V

Games and races were enjoyed- by all. followed by delicious ice cream and cake served by the Women's Institute.

Mr. 'David Cousins presided the presentation of prizes certificates.

The teacher. Mrs. Olive Green. presented fruit to each pupil and gifts for first and second place in each grade.

An address was read to the teacher by Neil Matthews while the presentation of a beautiful gift was made by Sharon Crozier. A reply of appreciation was made by the teacher.

The Red Cross swimming and water safety course is scheduled to begin at Alberton Wednesday afternoon. More than 30 enrolled for this course last year and en- joyed it to the full. As in past years those who wish to take the course are asked to enroll with Mrs. A. C. Green. Red Cross con- vener of the Women's Institute. This year the instruction will be given by Miss Buote of Tignish. a sister of Pat Buote who has been instructor for several years.

Also on Monday afternoon, June 30th.. the funeral service for the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. w.s. Culleton of Enmore, who passed away in O1..car,v was held. The service was in the' West Devon United Ohurch and was conducted by the minister. Rev. W.G. Dick- son. with interment tn the West Devon cemetery.
