Tue Souris train ran off the track at Morell yesterday evening. A train under Conductor McKee left this city and sueceeded in righting it at 11 o'clock p. m, and returned to the city at 5 oclock this morning. No damage was done by the accident.

Messrs. Joun Macteop & Co., of this city, have introduced a new feature into the busi ness of merchant tailoring here. They have now on hand for display for one week, from Monday next, about one thousand patterns of Scotch Tweeds, of styles for Spring, 1582, and ayy one can now choose their euit for next season. Such enterprise is commendable and, we are sure, must meet with great success.

Tus Bazaar in aid of St. Joseph's Convent, held in the Market Hall on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, was a grand success. The proceeds amounted to over $993. The lot- teries were quite suceessful and resulted as follows :—Chain won by Mr. Paton ; ship’s wheel, by H. B. Smith ; bride, by Miss M. A. Sullivan ; watch, by Mr. John Mooney ; house, by Miss Maggie Callaghan ; and silver fruit basket, by Mr. B. McPhillips. We con- gratulate the ladies of the committee on the success of the Bazaar.

F. has issued a proclamation requesting grand subordinate engampments and lodges to drape their Halls in mourning for thirty days from the reception of the notice of the death of Grand Corresponding and Kecording Secretary James L. Rigelty. The grand sire has also commissioned Theodore A. Ress as grand secretary. to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of Mr. Ridgelty.

Tue Patriet, of the 22nd, publishes the text of the Souris address to Sir Charles, and com- ments thereon in a style as contemptible as itis unmerited. ‘‘ The people of Souris” are represented by a clique having its seat in Georgetown, and comprising the three tailors of Tooley street, whom Sir Charles moved to present him, by the hand of Sheriff Mc@or- mack, with this address, te the end that he might favor them in reply with a stump speech, in which the essential element is mainly lack- ing.”
