Words seem inadequate to ex- press the decp sorrow and gloom which cost it: shadow over the Anriah and Travellers’ Rest on April 4 when it was learned that Mr. J. Percy iMarchbank, a prominent farmer and leader in church and temper- ance work, had suddenly passed away. The fact that his brother. Robert, had predeceased him by only a month made the blow much harder to bear and the aymprhy of the entire community goes out to his family and friends. The many floral tributes showed the high el- teem in which Mr. Marchbank had been held.

‘ Mrs. Sidney MscLesn, Brude- nell. recently recclved word that her nephew, William Arthur Bears 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Bears, Boston. Mum. was killed March 29th as he at- tempted tn board the 3:27 train to Boston at Lindenwood Station. The young man had been driven to the station by his fathenwho then stopped tor gas. The young man hustled to catch the moving train. and fell beneath the wheels of the train. He was rushed to the hospital by his father where the young man was declared dead on arrival. He was born in Boston in i927. and attended Stonchsm schools. graduating in i946. I-Is sn- llsted in the Navy in 1945 and was discharged at the end of the war He had then entered ‘hifts College to which he was en route whet- he was killed. He is survived by his parents. a brother.
