SWIM EVENTS

While the boats races were the feature event of the day a number of swimming events were held also. Nine well-filled class were run off.

While many of the spectators were watching the water racing others were spending some time at the many entertainment and re- freshment booths in various places on the wharf.

Premier A. W. Matheson, who opened last year's regatta was un- able to attend yesterday but his place was capably taken by Hon. Dougald Macltinnon. Minister of Public Works, industry and Natur- al " urces, who officially open- ed the proceedings early in the afternoon. '

The perfect day's entertainment was brought to a close with a de- icious supper served by the ladies and a dance in the evening.
