THE GASPESIA IN PORT.

She Arrived Yesterday Afternoon and Expects to Leave To-morrow.

The steamer (iaspesia, the pioneer boat of the Canadian Steamship Company arrived yesterday afternoon about four o'clock, ard moored at Poole’s and Navigation Company’s wharves, Great crowds of people were on the wharves to see her Come in,and many of them went on board after she was docke?.

About eight o'clock io the morning, the Gaspesia grounded off Rice Point, but got off again at high tide before the Prin- ces*, which bad been deepatched to her aasiviance, got outside the harbor. Thick weather and floating ice are reep nsible for the accident.

S. D.C. Riyxk.—The skating rink at St. Dunstan’s College was last evening formally opened for the season. The weather was fiue, the ice in gaod condition, aud everyone hada splendid time. The College band was in attendance, and played well. About 120 people went out from town on the special train, and a great many others either walked or drove out. The opening was in all reapects most suc- cessful, and the next skate at the college will be anticipated with pleasure.
