“It’s Easy To Get Bored”! Is it not fitting that the best song on this disk pretty much sums it up. There are a couple of songs that start with good musical grooves but most of the music tends to blend together. The lyrics are poorly written and I find myself cringing at the mixing of the music. From the attempt at social commentary “Driving Nowhere” to the angry “Crisis King”, this diskis a disappointement. Whoever thought this disk was good enough to release should consider shock treatment. I give it 1 star out of five.

Our Lady Peace Clumsy

Being a big fan of Our Lady Peace, I was very interested in hearing their new release. Although their sophomore album, Clumsy was not quite what I expected, it is anything but, well, clumsy! Their lyrics, as well as song writing has matured as well as evolved into something a little grittier than Naveed. With such diversity between songs like the mellow 4am, and the energetic Hello Oskar, Clumsy provides a little something for everyone. I found it difficult to pick just a few of my favorites, but here it goes... Songs like, Big Dumb Rocket, Shaking, Automatic Flowers and of course Superman’s Dead are just a few of the eleven exploding songs that definitely can hold their own. I was overall impressed with their newest effort, anything _ but a disappointment for us Our Lady Peace fans!

I Mother Earth Dig : (capitol)

In I Mother Earths first disc they seem to be making an attempt at being very worldly and experienced. Un- fortunately for them, they were not any of those things yet.

The titles of the songs on Dig show this attempt. Songs like “Levitate” and “ The Universe in You” are filled with powerful lyrics, but you get the distinct feeling thatthere wasn’t much behind the words.

However, the album is not all bad. The song “Rain Will Fall” leaves you feeling quite mellow and happy with yourself and many of the other ° songs can hit quite close to home with their lyrics that can be applied to anyones life.

The album can be a bit repetitive and unclear, but this can be attributed to the first attempt. It is versatile mood music and can be listened to in your car on the way home from work as easily as in the midst of a drunken soiree.
