“We who live in the Manltimes will pay double, the haul to our markets for our produce and the haul to our business centers on Prince Edward Island Of the goods we need.
“Of what value are special grants to the Atlantic Provinces if they are going to be siphoned away immediately by action! such as this.
“I have been informed that since 1947, our increases have been in excess of 100 percent. How can the Atlantic Provinces continue to exist with increases such as this?
“These increases may well be the wrong approach to the prob-
