There were seven teachers and in- spector Shaw present, The meet- ing opened by the reading of the minutes by the secretary. The question box was then opened and various questions in arithmetic and Englbh were discussed. Mr Shaw gave a very instructive talk on composition work, grading of pupils. arithmetic. etc. Miss Margaret Scott read a very in- interesting paper on language em- phasizing the importance of punct- uation, of correct selection of topics, and the necessity of having children write correctly. After s lively discussion in this paper the misting adjourned. The next meeting is to be held at the home of Miss Alice Nicholson, Orwell Cove on June 3rd._

A very important meeting for the purpose of the formation of a Fox Breeders‘ Protective Association was held in the office of Mr. W. K. Rogers Saturday morning. Over one thousand pairs of breeding fox- es were represented by the gather- ing of business men.

The recent theft of foxes was the primary cause oi the meeting. It was felt that the most active mens- ures should be employed for the protection of those in the fox breed ing industry; and with this end in

The Inter-Maritime Rifle Match to be shot between teams of eight riflemen from the three Maritime Provinces for the ‘Inter-Maritime trophy will be fired on Bedford Range, Nova Scotia, Thursday af- ternoon, June 11,
