A lawn mower that will cut high grass will become a favorite, but it may lead to negligence of the lawn on the part of some.
Turkeys hatched as late as July 1 will make profitable birds, though for heavy-weights the earlier they are hatched the better.
Cultivate often. It warms the soi} in early spring. It allows even light the moisture for use in summer.
The basis of a nation’s prosperity is the bread shoulders of its farmers. Flace burdens on these shoulders and a!, others will be weighed down and tinies will be hard.
Milk and eggs are two articles that are always sold for cash, and they en- able the farmer to receive daily re- turns. He does not have to wait for hurvest time with such products.
it is usually a foolish waste of money to feed a dry cow through a long win- ter ; more is to be made by selling both cow and feed. Few cows are good enough to keep unless they are giving milk liberally.
Improved breeds of cattle are regard- ed with favor because they have large feeding capacity. The “‘breed and the trough” can only be combined by se- lecting stock that makes the most gain from the food.
The man who knows and appreciates just when to use the roller and the har- row upon the ground for its best good and the good of his crop, is well abreast of the best thought of the age in mat- ters of soil tillage.
Potatoe beetles will leave potatoes to attack egg plants. They seem to have greater partiality for eggs plants than fer anything else, though they will also feast on tomato plants if potatoes are not up and growing.
Sow the cabbage seed for your late plants. Make a bed on the open ground, use fine, well-rotted manure, and sow the seed in rows, so as to permit of keeping the grass and weeds out of the way of the young planis.
The pig farrowed in April should reach 200 pounds before Christmas, and the clover field is the best place for it. Give growing pigs a mess of bran and skim milk at night, and they will need but little other food if they have the run of a clover field.
The best varieties of plums are very profitable, and fruit growers are of the unanimous opinion that the curcullo is a thing now not much to be dreaded ; where plums are planted in large quan- tities its ravages are hardly felt. It is the isolated tree which suffers,

Use a crowbar in setting up the Lima bean poles, and stick them down deep enough to protect them against the winds. Much carelessness is sometimes n«ticed in the placing of the poies, and when a few of them fall down they cause the entire garden to appear un- a:ghtly.
Survival of the fittest ts the law of business and trade. It is Nature’s law. Poor farmers will be squeezed to death. There is no way to prevent it. Yhe poor merchant goes down, and the siiftless mechanic never gets ahead; the same rule must work with the tiller of the soil.
Clover, by increasing the fertility of the soil, enables the farmer to keep more stock, whick also adds to the bulk of the manure heap. It is in the manure that the wealth of the farm is stored, for a time’ arrives when it is eonverted into products which bring in cash returns.
If you want early strawberries next spring, and can spare the space, let the Led remain over until the following year. It is the old, abandoned bed that gives the earliest berries, though they may not be equal in size and quality to the berries grown on a new plot and well cultivated.
Geese are seldom troubled with the diseases so common to other fowl:. Those are most thrifty which are hatch- ed early, and they grow larger. They do not mature until about the third year, and the eggs are not trustworthy for hatching uiutil the hen is about 15 months old.

Morell has long been the favorite sport- ing ground for seekers of health and rest, and the lovers of the rod and gun. The scenic attractions of the place are so well and widely known that it seems unnecess- ary to comment upon them here. Suffice it to say that in the last week of June—the most delightful week of the whole year—the natural beauties of the place will have attained their culminating point. These are consideratious that should commend the Mammoth Jubilee Tea to all who de- sire a day of real pleasure and recreation after the hard work of spring. The pre- parations for the Tea are on an elaborate scale. The Committee in charge are put- ting forth all their efforts to make the Mammoth Jubilee Tea eclipse anything of the kind heretofore held in the Pro- vince. Already the impression is abroad —and it is a true one—that whoever wishes to attend the first, the largest and the best Tea of the season must not miss the “Mammoth.” Thousands of peopie are expected from all over the country, but ample preparations will ve made for all. There will be several Tea Tables groaning under the weight of the rarest delicacies of the season—smoking dinner tables, to which sea and stream, forest and farm will each contribute its choicest spoils, well-stocked Refreshment Saloons, Ice Cream and Strawberry Stalls, Bazaar Counters, commodious Dancing Booths, Revolving Swings and other attractions too aumerous to mention. A well or- ganized Vigilance Committee will be on the greunds to preserve good order. Ip a word, everything will be provided to make the day what it should be—oue of pleasure and recreation. An-excellent Brass Band vill come by special train from Charlott e- town. In addition to the Band there will be a Piper to enliven the sons of the heather.

A Strong Feeling in Favor of a Canadian Produet inthe State of New York.
Syracuse, N. Y. June 10—In spite of a strong sentiment prevailing thronghont this state that nothing good can come out of Canada, a feeling is beginning to grow that there are certain notable exceptions and among-them is classed the new speci- fic remedy for all diseases of the kidneys and all complaints arising from a derange- ment of those organs, known as Dodd’s Kidney Pilis. The medicine has recived a thorough test and is being prescribed not only by druggists but by physicians whose well known reluctance to admit any virtue in proprietary medicine makes their testi- mony to its merits still more remarkable.
Hennessy, Oklahoma, June 14.—The gold fever which recently struck this territory is being dispelled. An assay of the dust shows it te be merely composed of zinc, copper and about three hundredth gold, not enough to pay for washing.
