Fact and Rumor

The Vicar of Stratford-on-Avon re-| gards the present as the silly season, for while the Lendon journals have been | vigorously discussing the propriety of resurrecting Shakespeare's bones and | denouncing the Vicar, he has never been asked for permission to exhume the great dramatist’s remains and consent, of course, has never beén given. In acknowledging Dr. Ingleby’s pamphlet | on the subject, he merely stated that “if | public opinion was clearly expressed io | tavor of an exploration of the poet’s| tomb, I should offer no opposition.
