MACKEREL ON THE Nova Scorra Coast.—A Canso correspondent writes:— ‘* Numerous small catches of mackerel have been made in this neighborhood; among the larger ones 100 barrels last week, and 50 barrels this week in Messrs. Roberts’ trap, Whitehead, and 50 barrels in Enos Goodwin's trap, Whitehead. a few days ago. The mackerel are large No. Ja, fair for the season, worth, I believe, $9 per barrel in Boston. If this be his opinion I wish to know what his idea cf honesty is, and what superiority im this respect has the merchant, the farmer, or the mechanic over the lawyer, the doctor or the clergyman |
