A Srrance Ixcipryt.—Two comrades named Rogers and Newcombe came over from Newfoundland this spring, and began work in Albert county. A few weeks ago the former had his head sawed off ina mill, and his wages were utilized if send - ing tbe body home for Lurial. The other said if aaything shculd haypen him that he wanted them to bury his body wherever he was at work, and send the money home, as itwould do more good. Last Thurs- day, at Riverside, Albert county, he was kicked in the pit of the stomach bya horse from atread mill and sank down dead. On Sunday his remains were in- terred in the cemetery of the village where the fatal accident occurred. This seems a rather strange incident,—M oncton Times,

MonTREAL, Sept. 30—The cross-exam- inutiou of tue accused Grenier by Mr. St. Pierre occupied most of the afternoon.
