Growre, Taerm Own Tosacco, — Last eyring two or three farmers residiug in the eastern part of the Island made up their miods that instead of paying at the rate of fifty cents a pound for “the weed,” they would try and grow their own tobacco Thev pr cured the seed and sowed it early. A tiourisbing er -p was the result, as much as fifteen pounds of manufactured tobacco being obtained from sixteen stalks of the piant. Alchough we personally disapprove of the use of tobacco, we see no reasen why those who de use it should not try their hand at raising it themselves. This Island, it would appear, is well adapted to the suc- cessful cultivation of the plant.
