They have told the Angli- can vicar, Rev. C. A. W. Raynor-Smith. they will not attend church until the bats stop swooping down at them. He has written to a London newspaper for ad- vice on combating bats in belfries.

"They can completely ruin services by making us dart and duck to avoid them,” he complains. “It’s all most distracting and un- dignified.”
