An IeLaxper Deap.—Thedeath of Mr William Morrison occured at St. Jobn last week. He leaves two sone and two daugbtersto wourn, Heart trouble was the cause of death. The deceased was a native of Prince Elward Island. He was in his 73rd year.

Fartairy at Sea-—The schooner Omega, Captain McDonald, left St. John’s on January tik. On the 15th, while ruo- ning before a northerly gsle, George Kelly, of Louisburg, was washed overboard and drowned, and part of port bulwarke were emashed by samesea. The Omega arrived at Barbadoes on the 6th February, 26 days passage.

Pouier Covat.--This morning a tracks rean named Hennessey was arraigned ona charge of disorderly driving on the etreets and was fined $5 or 30 daye. Edward Mc~ Cabe, another truckman, was charged with ill-treating his horse. The hearing of tie case was adj urned until Monday for the appearance of the de- fendent. A wifeebeating case was a°journ- ed until Saturday.
