The Cabinet was in session three hours and a half yesterday afternoon. The council met shortly after three o'clock, all the Min- isters being present. Mr. Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, was in consultation with Mr. Gladstone for half an hour after the council separated. A news agency is the authority for the assertion that the trish magistrates, in replying to Mr. For- ster’s circular, had expressed the opinion that they would be unable to carry out the provisions of the circular. Mr. Forster therefore, told his colleagues that the ordi- nary law could not be depended upon. It was proposed in the Cabinet council that the Irish Executive be given coereive powers with a view to indemnity from Parliament.

The S. S. Prince Edward sailed on Tues- day last, with the following exports, viz.: 1122 cases canned goods, shipped by John Hughes, Charlottetown ; 645 cases preserved lobsters, by Hon. 3. Prowse, Murray Har- bor ; 22) cases preserved meats, by Long- worth & Co.. Ch’town; and 958 sacks starch, by St. Peter’s Bay Starch Company.

Tho brigt. Plymouth will sail in a day or two for Queenstown for orders, with 17,000 bush. oats. The brigt. Canadian arrived from Bermuda on the 6th inat., received the greater part of a general cargo here, and pro- ceeded on Tuesday te finish ; thence to New- foundiand. Schr. Centennial, with a cargo of 5,500 bushels potatees, will sail from Cardigan wharf to-day for Boston. The sch. Vegete sailed from the same wharf on the 7th with 1,200 bushels petatoes for Halifax, ail of which hae been shipped by Mesars. A. A. Macdonald & Bros.

The Royal Arch, belenging to Capt. Ay!- ward, Southport, sailed te-day for Newfound- land with produce.
