[The Wiberal-Conservative party stands to-day where it has ever stood on the question of our trade relations with the United States. A treaty such as that adopted in 1854, with such modifications or enlargements as time and circumstances render necessary, has ever been the policy of the Government of Sir John McDonald. In proof of this we have only to refer to the standing offer of Reciprocity contained in the tariff bill of 1879, and the offer made

A very faithful representation of the perfect insect may be seen ina book in the window beside the caterpillar and cocoon, The moth belongs to the Bombycidee or silk spinning moths, and it is stated that while the strands of the cocoon are so inseparably agglutinated as to forbid the unwinding of the silk, the cocoon has been varded, spun and knitted into stockings which wash like linen.
