At the Magistrates Court this morning, Uenry Charlton was fined 5 cents and costs for having no number on_ his truck. Augustus Down, Angus DesRoche, William Turner, for the same offense, was fined twenty cents and costs. John Dia mond, for the same effense, was fined $1.50 and costs.
Tus New York Bulletin says that a fea- ture of the export trade is the large number of agricultural implements going abroad, most of them, it is understood, being in- tended for Germany. One steamer that sailed on the 13th inst. took out no less than 1,000 packages of mowers and reapers, in addition to 1,500 packages of hardware and general merchandise.
An ‘“‘old country” farmer came to Halifax a week or two ago with £1,500, which he intended to invest in a farm in Nova Sco- tia, but determined to enjoy city life for a time before settling down to honest toil, he strayed away from his boarding house, and was not seen again for several days. On his retuwn on Saturday last he was minus the whole of his money, plus two black eyes, and could not tell where he had lost the one or received the other.
A Forrune. —A meeting of the Hilton heirs was held last week at New Dublin, Lunenburg County, It is reported that gome millions of doilars invested in cotton mils and other property in England, will fall into the hands of the heirs. Messrs. Hilton and Remby, of New Dublin, were appointed to proceed to England at once to look after the property. Mrs. Dagget, of this town, will be entitled to a large share of the fortune.—Liverpool (N. S:) Times.

Pork (per earcass) from 5 to 6 cents per lb. Mutton, from 8 to 12 cents per lb. Veal from 4 to 7 cents per lb. Turkeys from 80 cents to $1.50.. Butter (fresh) from 25 to 26 cents per lb.; do (tub) from 9 to 22 cents per Tb. Olover seed from 24 to 30 cents per lb. Timothy seed from $3.50 to $4.50 per

named Joseph McCormack, of Souris East, narrowly escaped instant death by a kick he received from Dr. Jenkins’ horse, ‘*Royal Harry.”, <A large crowd was assem- bled before Dodd’s Medical Hall, inspecting Mr. Newton Lee’s stallion, ‘‘ All Right.” ‘Royal Harry” was on the street at the time, and, as he passed ‘‘ All Right,” the crowd dispersed ; but Mr. McCormack kept
his place on the mtiddle of the street. The groom, thinking the crowd sufficiently
