The game here at the Forum to- night should be 9. crowd plciascr when the Royalty crew cross sticks with the Shearwater navy aggreg- ation in their exhibition tilt. From what can be learned of the visit- ing squad. they are 3 well-balanc- ed team that have -had little com- petition so far this season, but had a good record in play last season. They should be I. good match for the East Royalty pucksters who have already had a few games un- der their belts this season. The Shearwatcr team are expected to fly to the City sometime tomor- row afternoon.

The intcrsoliolastie League game on Saturday night will bring to- gether the West Kent and Queen Square School pucksiers. which will be the third scheduled league contest this season but will high- light the first meeting between the two teams in regular competition. Both have made one league start this season but were the vanquish- ed in each case by the Prince Street School team who are lead- ing (he league with two victories in as many starts. with A 5-2 victory before a packed Forum crowd of 14.451.

The result widened to 18 points the margin between the Leafs and Montreal in third spot.

Sid Smiii-. topped the scoring for Leafs. firing two goals in the final period in which Tod Sloan also counted. The earlier goals went to Tod Kennedy and Cal Gardner.

Leafs persistent checking paid off and they had too much power at the end for the Montrealers. Seven of the 10 penalties, including a 10-minute misconduct to de- fenceman Jim Thomson, were ab- sorbed by Toronto without any harm. Sport Echoes I from Prince county

Both Oscar Campbell and Ciinl; I-Iowatt have pulled the "hat trick' twice since the East Prince Hockey League opened. This is. 01 6011159- a tribute to the old timers. and gives an idea how those boys could play in their palmy days. It is also an indication that the brand of hockey played in these parts is not what it used to be. We don't see why "Chick" Gallant does not get back into hairness. In today's hock- ey in the E. P. League "Chick' should be able to hold his own pretty well.

Crystalsi line of Trainor-Minc- Kay-Kelly compares favorably, we think, with any of last year's for- weird trios. It is as good. if not I shade better than any iline the Crystals themselves had. Of course we realize that the weaker the opposition, the smoother 9. line looks. and that may have I little 10 do with the way this threesome has been sweeping around defences.

The Sheen and Mclnnis juniors have been running into some tough

luck. After absorbing their 12-1 trouncing at the hands of the Charlottetown Abbie Juniors. the

boys looked very good in a recent practice. but word has been re- ceived that their ace defenceman, Punt. oatway, has been ordered by his doctor to hang up the blades for the season. Punt is I classy rearguardsman Qid will be missed. There have been rumors also that some of the boys, I bit discouraged by the result of their first game. are considering joining Inter- mediate teams in the vicinity. You have to hand it to Bob Schurmnn and Elmer Matheson. They still have faith in the team's chances of ultimate success and are Koing right ahead with their plans. Sat- urday's game in Charlottetown against the Abbie Juniors may bring a decision one way or the other for the local Juniors.

Albany was refused permission to enter the East Prince League at an executive meeting of that body Saturday night. The Saint Pat.- plan to register in Intermediate "A" competition. anyway. and will thus get a chance to play the winners of E. P. circuit some time in the spring. It is difficult to assess the strength of this club. They beat Borden 8 to 4 in an ex- hibition game but some of the Borden players were missing from the line-up that evening. We'd like to see them in Crystal Rink in I match with the Crystals or R.C.A.F'. sometime in the not too distant future.

The Prince Edward Island Bas- ketball League wlll give western fans their first glimpse of the sport It the Rv.C.A.F. tonight (Friday). The Airmen have already played one game, defeating the Prince of WIies five 51 to 40, but tonight's doubleheade will bring the schur- man team into active competition for the first time this season.

The weather man is fast con- vincing hockey players and fans that natural ice rinks are not good enough for the popular winter sport any more. we don't know whether I. hunk of Pacific Coast's winter climate decided to spend I few years in the East or not, but cer- tIfnly Jack Frost is not the big robust fellow he used to be.
