OTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of an Act of the General Assembly of this Island, passed in the fifth year or the reign of His late Majesty, King William the Fourth, intituled “ An Act relating to distress for rent, and to regulate the practice of the Supreme Court in Cases of Replevin,” I have appointed the following persons my Deputies for Prince County:

1:115 Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in Council was this : day pleased to fix and determine the rate at which the amount of the Invoice of Dutiablc Goods imported into this Is- land from the United States of America, shall, in estimating the duties payable thereon, be reduced into current money of the Island, as follows:—

In all cases where such Invoices shall be made out in Dollars and Cents of the paper currency of the United States, the amount of such‘Invoice shall be reduced into current money of this Island, by allowing for each Dollar the sum of Five Shillings, and in the like proportion for any fraction of a Dollar; of which all Collec- tors of Impost are to take not-ice and govern themselves accor- dingly.

ON AND AFTER TIIIS DATE PACKETS of BOOKS or PAT- TERNS, addressed to the UNITED KINGDOM, the WEST INDIES and NEWFOUNDLAND, will be chargeable with a. smgle rate of postage for every Weight of four ounces, instead of being charged two rates as at present, for any fraction of half a pound after the first half pound. Scale to be as follows:

A Packet weighing not more than 4 ounces, 1 rate, “ “ above 4 oz. and not exceeding 8 oz., 2 rates ” “ 8 “ 12 3 rates “ “ 12 “ 1 lb. 4 rates
