Rheumatism and Gout have heretofore been considered by the ordinary practising physicians as incurable diseases, and the query has often been propounded, of what benefit to the helpless sufferer is all their pretended scieace ; and what doth it avail—their loag and tedious gourse of study—if they are obliged to acknowledge that all their repources are to no account when call- ed upon to prescribe for a patient suffering from chronic rheumatism.
