CAP. IV.

An Act in further amendment ofthe Act to incorpo- rate the Royal Agricultural Society of Prince Edward Island.

[Passed April 3, 1865. HEREAS through inadvertance the Annual Meeting of the Royal Agricultural Society of

Prince Edward Island, was not held this year on the

ﬁrst Wednesday in March, as is required by the Act

ofthe General Assembly ofthis Island, passed in the

Twelfth year ofthe Reign of Her present Majesty,

Chapter twenty-one, and it isexpedient to give power

to said Society to hold the Annual Meeting ofthe

said Society for this year on another day.

Be it therefore enacted by the Lieutenant Gover- nor, Council and Assembly, as follows :

I. It shall be lawful for the Royal Agricultural Society of Prince Edward Island to hold the Annual Meeting of said Society, for this year, on the ﬁrst Tuesday in May next coming, instead of the ﬁrst Wednesday in March, as required by the said recited Act, anything in the said recited Act to the contrary notwithstandintr.

II. The number of Subscribers to the said So- ciety shall, as heretofore, be indeﬁnite; but the class of Governors are hereby abolished, and the Presi- dent and Committee shall be chosen by a majority of the members generally, and such Committee shall consist of the President, Vice President, and four- teen members, in addition to the number ofmembers of the House of Assembly to be appointed in manner pointed out by the third Section of the said recited Act; and anything in the second and third clauses, or other parts of the said recited Act, inconsistent with this clause, are hereby repealed.

III. From and after the passing of this Act. the appointment of a person annually to the ofﬁce of Ge- neral Secretary and Treasurer to the said Society, shall be made by the President and Committee ofthe said Society, instead of by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, as required by the said recited Act; and such Secretary and Treasurer, so to be appointed, shall be responsible to the said President and Com- mittee for the execution and discharge ofthe various duties required of him as defined from time to time by their Bye-laws and special Resolutions; and who shall be subject to removal for inefﬁciency or other— wise, at the pleasure of said President and Com- mittee; and such Secretary and Treasurer shall, before entering upon the duties of such ofﬁce, give security for the proper and faithful discharge of the same, to an amount not lessthan six hundred pounds; such security to be the bond of the person so ap~ pointed Secretary and Treasurer, together with two or more good and sufﬁcient persons as securities; such bond to be taken in the name of the Royal Agricultural Society ofPrince Edward Island; and it shall be the duty ofthe said Secretary and Trea- surer, annually, or oftener if required by the Presi- dent and Committee so to do, to prepare and ﬁle in the Oﬂice ofthe Colonial Secretary ofthis Island, a tall and correct statement ofthe accounts and affairs

IV. The Fifth Section ofthe said recited Act of the twelfth Victoria, Chaptertwenty-one, is hereby repealed.

Y virtue of a writ of Statute Execution to me directed, issued

out of Her Majesty’s Supreme Court of Judicature, at the suit of John R. Bourke, against Ellen Stewart and MargaretStewart, I have taken and seized as the property of the said Ellen Stewart and Margaret Stewart, All the right, title and Freehold interest of the said Ellen Stewart and Margaret Stewart, in and to Town- Lot No. 92, in the Second hundred of Lots in Charlottetown, in Queen’s County; and I do hareby give public notice that I will, on Tuesday, the 27th day ot'Deccmber next, 1864, at 12 o‘clock, noon, at the Court House in Charlottetown, in the said County, set up and sell at Public Auction, the said property, or as much thereof as wtll satisfy the levy marked on the said writ, being £534 12., with interest on £532, part thereof, from the 9th day of February, 1863, until paid, besides Sheriﬁ’s fees and incidental expenses.
