The object of the Corresponding Committee in addressin you this Uircular is to ascertain, as far as possible, to whz extent the recommendation of the Commissioners has been dis- regarded when they advised the landholders to abstain from harsh proceedings agaivst their tenantry, and not to seek for the recovery of more than one year’s rent.

It is very desirable that this information should be of the most authentic character, and as full as it can be convenient! y made, in order that the Corresponding Committee may report to the Commissioners the condition of the Teuantry since the closing of their Court in this Is'and.
