Have you ever thought about studying at another university, oh say - one in the United States or the United Kingdom? Well, now you have and what a time it would be ... a new and different country, culture, and university (with all that fun stuff included!) to explore and learn about.

There are a number of differ- ent exchange progams that UPEI is involved with and that YOU, UPEI students, have the oppor- tunity to participate in. One such exchange is the International Stu- dents Exchange Program (ISEP) which organizes exchanges be- tween Canadian and American insiuions for students who are en- tering thei second or third year of university study. We zlso have greements with universities in the United Kingdom, such as, The University of Dundee. Think about it... studying fo a yea at the University of South Car- olina (and soaking up some sun), or maybe at Eastern Nwe Mex- ico University (snoozing ugder a sombraro), or abroad in the

Introducing UPEI’s Exchange Students for the 1989-90 school year. They arre: Laura Bloom from. the University of South Florida; Lois Anne Colleschon from the University of Dundee, Scotland; Wendy marich from the University of South Wallace. These students will be study- ing at UPEI for teh next two semesters, so make an effort to meet and welcome these people to out province and university.

Who knows, it may be you who will be attending one of their universities next year!?!

UPEI Shinerama ‘89 has been fomally challenged by Brandon Univesity. The school with the highest percentage increase over last year’s Shinerama evenue will be declared the winner. As well,

This year three UPEI stidents will be participating in Student Exchanges within the United States. These students will be do- ing their third year of study at a selected university. Mike Driscoll will be attending the University of South Florida, Adam Gabriel will be at Ball State University, and Jennifer Green will be at- tending sunny Charleston Uni- versity in South Carolina. What a year these three are going to have!!!

Student Medical Plan

Upon registration all full time students automatically become members of the Student Medical Plan and are charged the annual premium. If you are already covered by a medical plan, other than Provincial Medicare, you may withdraw from the Student Medical Plan. i

Immediately after registration day you may pick up your refund at the Student Union Office located on the first floor of the Student Union Building. You will need:

— your updated student card or a

receipt from the University

— proof of another medical plan.

If you are receiving a student loan do not wait until the loan has been processed be- fore applying for the Student Medical ° Plan rebate.

Students interested in a family medical plan can get further information from the Student Union Office before the end of. September.

STUDENT MEDICAL PLA‘ RE- BATES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER.

Student Medical Plan. cards will be available mid-November in the Student Union office. If you purchase a prescrip- tion before November, hold the receipt until your-card arrives.
