NEXT MEETING

Date: Tuesday, January 7, 1975

Time: 8 p.m.

Place: Provincial Health Building, 3rd floor, Room 47 & 48. (Enter through underground garage on west side of Provincial Administrative Building).

Program: This is the annual meeting. Following the necessary business there will be a showing of members' nature slides. If you have some please bring them along to help make a good show. These need NOT be 1974 slides only. It is IMPORTANT that they be SPOTTED in the LOWER LEFT corner of the front of the mount unless you intend to use your own pro— jector. For showing small lots there will be a projector with a stack loader.

If you make your own PRINTS, please take along several of your best. It will add interest to the meeting.

Announcements:

Nature Slide Competition rules:

(1) Members may submit up to six nature slides taken on P.E.I. in 1974.

(2) Slides are to be thumb-spotted on LOWER LEFT corner of the mount.

(3) Do NOT put your name anywhere on slide mount.

(4) Submit slides in a sealed envelope bearing your name on outside,

(5) Bring slides to the January meeting. They will be judged and shown at the February meeting, Tuesday, February 4.

Membership Dues For 1975:

you will pay the membership fee ($2.00) EARLY in the year. If mailing, please include the following information:

_ Note From December Meeting —

Mr. Stanley Vass, Environmental Policy Advisor, writes that he would support the proposal to establish the Great Blue Heron as our provincial bird. People might then stop referring to it as "the Crane". Also, he noted that during the autumn the Herring Gulls were dropping great numbers of shellfish onto the National Park roadway near the

Covehead Harbour bridge. The road was constantly littered with broken shells.
