It was all they needed. In the third. they allowed saints to carry the play and with a top performance from Hsl.GorBon in the Island case. they threw off the desperate attacks of the local club. Islanders shot the puck into an empty net late in the third when coach Sweeney schriner pulled D'Aoust for a power play.

It was a good game in the first two periods with lots of action and some nnartly executed goals. In the opening ” pter. Saints skated all over fslsnders: and brought joy to the hearts of their fans with their display. They con- tinued their top work for the first half of the middle frame then bogged down.

A pair of penalties in quick succession to Eddie Brown start- ed saints on the downgrade.
