Green justified these_ purchases by saying that the cameras were neces- sary to use for instruc— tion. This resulted in a discussion of whether or not the Photo Club -should be used for instruction or as a number of misguided councillors believe merely a club for those who already have cameras and know how to use them.

We have looked into buy— ing Carnival buttons, beer mugs and T—shirts. We will be able to report by next week if we decide to order any. If we do the price range will be about 40-50c for the buttons; $1.20—$1.30 for the beer mugs; and $3—$4 for the T—shirts. If we dec decide to order any or all of the above, each one will have this year's Carnival theme and design.

The executive has also booked the gym for the afternoon pubs and beer bashes, and the Cdnfed. Centre for the Carnival Ball, although no contracts have been signed yet.

We have also applied to the Liquor Control Commission.for licences for each event. A1-

Thurs.,Feb.10 starts with a pub in the barn from 2—4 and a Beer Bash in the gym from 8;30—1;00,'featuring "Grey Owl",followed by a suicide skate from 1 a.m.-

3 a.m. in the rink.

Friday's pub in the gym from 2-4:30 will featuer a Fashion Show, Chugging Contests,etc., "State of Mind" in the gym from 8:30- la.m.,followed by "midnight to dawn" movies, hopefully ( we're still work—

We hope that anyone inter— ested will show up at the meeting on Friday at 3:00 in the S.U. Office and pres— ent any ideas they might have. The Carnival Executive has also approached the Faculty As so ciation and reques ted that no mid—term exams be scheduled between Feb,8 and l6,thus freeing many peopdé of excess cramming.

We have also approached Student Services and Berna- dine Residence Committee and requested an extension of open—hours for Carnival Week ( hope to know by next Cadre).

Certain members of the Athletic Association have a also been approached to see if the Moncton hockey game might possibly be held in our Campus Rink, instead of the Forum downtown. The Comm- ittee feels that this would be a great way to start Carn— ival Week.
