Cora Morrison, Bell, master, cleared for Glace Bay to-day with a cargo consisting of 800 bushels potat:e*, 1.000 bushela oats, 500 bushels turnips, 6 barrels pork, 125 tubs butter, 10 tons hey, shipped by Rritenbury Bros. The schs. Laurier and Sangster also cleared to-day—the former for Boston and the latter for Halifax. The Laurier took 4.250 bushels potatoes, and the Sangster 3,250 bushels potatoes. Buth cargoes were shipped by Geo. H, Toombs.

Ayoruer BoreLtary.—The store in conn: c tion with the Fish Market on Grefton Street was entered by burglars at an early hour on Sunday morning aad some small articles were taken. The tilla were searched for money, but they happened to be empty at the time as all the money in them had been removed on Saturday aight before closing. An entrance was effected by breaking the glass in the show window. Officer Carter and Watchman Merchant saw two persons loitering in the neighborhood of the Fish Market about one o'clock ia the morniag, just before the bur- glary was discovered. 1h» two undertook to shadow the men, as they thought they were up to some mischief, but before they bad time to close in on them they suddenly disappeared,

A Larner Fowenat.—The body of the late Mr. John Kelly, Water Commissioner, was interred in the Roman Catholic ceme tery yesterdxy afternoon. The funeral was one of the largest seen here for years, bearing testimony to the esteem in which Mr. Kelly was held by persons of all classes and creeds. The pal) bearers were David Laird, Alexander McKinnon, James Byrne, Charles Lyons, P. F. Doyle and Edward Kelly. Besides the large bedy of citizens in attendance, the Citizens’ Band, police force, firemen ana fire board, City Coun- cillora, the Ancient Order of Hiberniane and the Benevolent Irish Society marched ip the order named. The floral decora tions on the casket included a Celtic Crocs from the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The service at St. Dunatan’s Cathodral was conducted by His Lordship Bishop Mac dowald, assisted by Rev F. C. Kel'y (son of h» deceased),Rev. P Hogan, Rev. D B. Reia and Rev. A. MeAulay. The Cathe dral was thionged with people during the service.

ResoLutien or ConpoLeNce.—At a meet- ing of the Benevolent Irish Society, held in the Lyceum on Sunday evening, the President, P. McCourt, Esq , in the chair, the following resolutions, moved by Mr. S. Bolger and seconded by Mr. P. H. Trainor, were unani- mously adopted :

Whereas, [t has pleased Almighty God in His inscrutable wisdom to remove by death one of the oldest and most honored members of this Society—our late worthy brother mem- ber, Joho Kelly, Esq $

And whereas, The records of this Society bear eloqyent testimony to his long and useful career as member,’ President, and in various other capacities, in all of which he served with great fidelity, thus endeatiug himselt to hia fellow members and fixing a worthy ex. ample of patriotism, integrity and devotion to duty for those who survive him ;

Therefore resolved, that this Society is de ply grieved at the loss it has sustained, and des res to testify to the many virtues of their deceased brother.

Further resolved, That the Secretary of this Society shall forward a copy of these resolutions to the sorrowing widow and family of the deceased, to whom its members tender their heartfelt sympathy.

St. Vincent of Pavut.—The annuil pubic meeting of St. Vincent de Paul Society was held in St. Dunstan’s Cath- edral yesterday at 4 p. m. President Caven occupied the chatr. The treasurer and secretary's reports were read, showing the good work done by the society during the past yesr in relieving the deserving poor of this city. The receipts from all sources amounted to $534, and expenditure $540 —leaving a small balance of $6 due the treasurer The money was expendel in provisions and coal and various donations in cash, The Society lately purchased a cargo of coal amounting to 110 tons, to be distributed during the coming winter. A collection taken up »mounted to $19 25 There is also in connection a Lidies’ Aid Society, which distributes clothing, ec. As the winter will no doubt be a severe one, we would suggest that anyone wishing to assist the Society can de sv by sending their contributions tothe Treasurer.
